At www.getepw.com, we generate EnergyPlus Weather (EPW) files and simulation-ready datasets. These outputs are processed, reformatted, and delivered by GetEPW, a service of Ambiator Private Limited.

1. Data Sources

The underlying meteorological data used to generate EPW files is sourced from Open-Meteo (https://open-meteo.com/), a free and open API providing global weather forecasts and climate datasets.

We acknowledge and credit Open-Meteo for making this data available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

2. Data Processing

GetEPW reformats, processes, and packages Open-Meteo datasets into EPW files that are compatible with EnergyPlus and other building simulation tools.

While we take care to ensure accurate formatting and delivery, the integrity and accuracy of the underlying meteorological data remain subject to the limitations of the original source.

3. Limitations & Uncertainty

Weather forecasts, historical reconstructions, and climate projections inherently involve uncertainties.

- Accuracy may vary by location, time horizon, and dataset.
- EPW files generated by GetEPW should be used as inputs for simulation, research, and planning purposes only.
- They should not be relied upon as definitive or guaranteed representations of actual weather conditions.

Neither Ambiator Private Limited, GetEPW, nor Open-Meteo shall be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of these datasets.

Users are solely responsible for applying appropriate professional judgment when using these outputs in design, engineering, or research applications.
